FOSSI: Could you share a few highlights about your first few semesters at Bethune Cookman University?
My biggest highlight thus far has been being able to maintain a 4.0 GPA as well as using my gifts of biology and Spanish to tutor others! I also have an amazing friend group and easy access to the beach!
FOSSI: Has anything surprised you about college life so far?
The thing that has surprised me about college life is the variety of different people I have met. :)
FOSSI: How has the FOSSI Scholarship impacted your experience at Bethune Cookman University?
The FOSSI Scholarship has has helped me create meaningful connections with my mentors, and it has made my college experience less stressful by not having to worry about extra college fees.
FOSSI: How are your studies going – what are the biggest challenges and what do you like most?
My studies are going well…I am really enjoying the classes I am taking. My biggest challenge is making sure I properly manage my time and what I enjoy most is the opportunity to expand my knowledge in various subjects.
FOSSI:What extra-curricular activities are you enjoying on campus?
I have been blessed to be able to assist with the media team as a photographer for the football team as well as a singer in a gospel choir.
FOSSI: Tell us about your experience at your internship with a FOSSI sponsor company.
I had a wonderful time visiting the Atlanta Deloitte office along with another fellow FOSSI Scholar, Kaila White. It was enlightening being able to experience a day in the life of a Deloitte employee and it was great connecting with various people.
