During the college winter break, Cabot Corporation brought together eight of their FOSSI scholars for a virtual meet-and-greet.  Students had the opportunity to meet one another, members of Cabot’s Black ERG, and learn about Cabot as a company.

During his summer internship at ExxonMobil, 2021 FOSSI scholar George Rivers (Virginia State University, Majoring in Civil Engineering) had the opportunity to meet with Mike Zamora, Senior Vice President, ExxonMobil Product Solutions.

Deloitte 2021 FOSSI scholars Keliy Haynes (Bethune-Cookman University, Chemistry) and Kaila White (North Carolina A&T State University, Chemical Engineering) traveled to Atlanta in August for a “Day at Deloitte,” including lunch with Dave Yankovitz,  Principal & Chemical Practice Leader and Kenneth Woolridge, Specialist Master.

2022 FOSSI scholar Jalen O’Neal Williams (Tuskegee, Sustainability) joined SABIC’s Libbie Craft, Director, Global Talent Solutions and Tamara Norwood,  Specialist, HRBP, at a community celebration for the 35th anniversary of SABIC’s plant just outside of Montgomery, Alabama.

2021 FOSSI scholars Liyah Wilson (North Carolina A&T State University, Chemical Engineering), Anthony Solomon (Hampton University, Computer Science), and Dieunette Adusei-Peasah, (Virginia State University, Civil Engineering) had the opportunity to visit AdvanSix in Richmond in August. They were treated to a number of activities including team dinners, a golf outing, tours of 2 chemical facilities, and a “speed dating” session with staff members associated with their majors.

2021 FOSSI Scholar, Tondrae Garrett (North Carolina A&T State University, Material Engineering), was in Houston this summer (2022) and met up for dinner with mentor David Anderson, Vice President Customer Quality & SC Excellence, GBU Soda Ash & Derivatives, American Soda LL at Solvay Chemicals, Inc.
