Meet Seqouia Hollis: 2025 FOSSI Scholar attending Alabama A&M University

Seqouia Hollis is from Mobile, Alabama, and is attending Alabama A&M University as a chemistry major. A first-generation college student and valedictorian of her high school class, she is passionate about creating cruelty-free products that are safe and accessible for all.
Known as “Qouia” to her friends and family, Seqouia discovered her love for chemistry in her high school honors chemistry class, where she became fascinated by chemical reactions and the way chemistry connects to everyday life. Her determination led her to balance straight A’s, extracurriculars, part-time jobs, and an internship at Hargrove Engineers & Constructors throughout high school.
Looking ahead, she hopes to gain hands-on experience through internships, inspire the next generation, and one day start a nonprofit organization supporting young Black girls from backgrounds similar to hers.
