FOSSI: Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hello! My name is Jadon Ogala and I am an aspiring electrical engineer attending Howard University. I am Nigerian-American but was born in Ireland and grew up in Washington state. However, two years ago I moved to Houston, a city I quickly fell in love with due to its diversity and vibrant culture. I am passionate about building a sustainable future with renewables and have done a year-long research project on integrating battery storage into Texas’s grid. I am excited about the opportunities at Howard and with FOSSI, and look forward to learning more about a career in creating a sustainable energy future.
The mission to transition the world to sustainable energy has always resonated with my soul, not only because of its immense importance, but also due to the countless technical challenges that must be overcome.
FOSSI: Fast forward, where do you see yourself in ten years?
In the future, I aspire to be the director of engineering for a renewable energy firm, coordinating the deployment of solar farms and wind turbines while I interface with local government and stakeholders to deliver a project that can best suit the needs of the community I am serving. Renewable energy has long been a passion of mine since I was in the fourth grade when I started learning about electric cars and climate change. I was always interested in the sciences and technology, and the mission to transition the world to sustainable energy has always resonated with my soul, not only because of its immense importance, but also due to the countless technical challenges that must be overcome.
