FOSSI: Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Azaan Dinkins, and I am currently an incoming freshman at North Carolina A&T State University studying chemical engineering. I hope to use my education in chemical engineering to explore semiconductor and battery technologies to create sustainable energy resources to combat climate change.
FOSSI: Why are you passionate about pursuing a degree in a STEM-related field?
Pursuing a degree in STEM will allow me to solve complex problems while working towards improving important global issues. Furthermore, a degree in STEM will allow me access to the knowledge and resources that enable me to give back to my community and continue pushing for equity in the field.
FOSSI: Who is a role model that has influenced you?
My father has been an incredibly impactful role model in my life. Since a young age, he fostered my passion for chemical engineering and pushed me to fulfill my potential. My mother worked to expose me to unique experiences and develop an understanding of how the resources and knowledge I acquire can be used to help others, imploring me to give back to those who come behind me.
FOSSI: Share a few fun facts about yourself.
