Kristopher Moore is a Prairie View A&M freshman who plans to major in mechanical engineering and minor in business. He has experience in robotics, investments, and the digital arts. Kristopher is an avid volunteer in his community, having served over 120 hours for the betterment of his high school and working with a local food bank. In his free time, he enjoys learning new things like Mandarin and improving his skills, such as mental math. He also enjoys playing video games, practicing Muay Thai, and kickboxing in his spare time. Kristopher’s future goals are to use the knowledge he gains from his time at Prairie View with the support of the FOSSI scholarship, to answer global energy problems and improve our everyday lives with the power of engineering.
FOSSI: Why are you passionate about pursuing a degree in a STEM-related field?
I aim to create a cheap and effective device capable of capturing sound energy and converting it to clean energy. A device that is 100% eco-friendly, long-lasting, durable, and powerful enough to power major cities even bigger than New York, New York. This device will create millions of jobs for Americans and will be built with 75% of American-made and sourced parts, something that will become the center of one of the greatest companies to grace the Earth.
However, the most important thing I will receive from majoring in mechanical engineering is the ability to think like an engineer, look at the most complex things and break them into manageable parts, and easily develop solutions to each problem and combine them into a grand solution. To create - that’s why I want to study mechanical engineering.
