FOSSI: Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am Taylor Cobb, a graduating senior at Lockport Township High School. I will be attending Tennessee State University in the fall. I plan to major in computer science and criminal justice. I believe that knowledge is power and living for others beyond yourself is the key to success. Following this motto, I work as a Jr. G.E.M.S. ambassador to inspire, motivate, and teach young girls in middle and high school; and to help prepare them for their transition from high school to college. During my tenure in high school, I have participated in Jr. ROTC, Math Club, GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance), Step Team, Student Government and National Honor Society.
Helping others is one of my passions, but changing the world is my goal through computer science and criminal justice by working as a Criminal Intelligence/Cyber Security Analyst in the future.
FOSSI: Who is a role model that has influenced you?
My great-grandmother, Louise Jenkins, has inspired me from a very young age. She recently turned 96 years old, and as long as I've lived, she has worked hard to instill great values into me. She has taught me how to stay grounded in my relationship with God, find something I am passionate about, and work hard to achieve my goals. My great-grandmother raised 15 children while also working to ensure our family was taken care of. She is bright and intelligent, and her inability to get a proper education has influenced me to continue my post-secondary education to change the world.
FOSSI: Fast forward – where do you see yourself in ten years?
Ten years from now, I see myself working for a government agency as a Criminal Intelligence/Cybersecurity Analyst.
