FOSSI: Why are you passionate about pursuing a degree in a STEM-related field?

Many people assume that engineering majors are just math and science nerds, spending all their times assembling random contraptions and crunching numbers.

Engineering majors are also critical thinkers, team-players and have natural curiosity. Engineering inventions and innovations are responsible for changing the modern world and transforming our society.

While many inventions have focused on making life easier, I would like to focus on creating technology that makes like safer. Many problems in urban communities can be solved with the help of engineers. Critical issues like the lack of safe drinking water and an increase in pollution that plagues many of our communities, are just a couple of problems that I would like to focus on. My career goal is to become a civil engineer with an environmental focus.

FOSSI: Share a few fun facts about yourself.

I have played year-round baseball since I was 10 years old and I spend most of my spare time playing competitive baseball. I love all things Anime and every kind of pasta from Spaghetti to Ramen to Lo Mein. I am also interested in construction.
